LADIES CHAMPIONSHIP & THE
CHALLENGE CUP The Ladies Championship played off scratch was won by Sandy
Fell for the second year running. Sandy scored 76 in
round 1 and 77 in round 2.
Close runner Up was Kay Grindell
with Angela Fry on 157 count back - going to Kay with 37 as
against Angel's 39. The Challenge Cup was won by Pro.
Lesley Fallowfield with a gross 87 nett

EVENTS
ANNUAL PRIZE GIVING AND B-B-Q The annual prize giving for competition winners
will takle place on Saturday 27th september 2008 when we will also
hold a B-B-Q. Invitations will be sent out to competition winners
and this is an opportiuntity for families to attend and see their
loved ones presented with their trophies. At the same time the
B-B-Q will be running and you can reserve your tickets behind the
bar. Music and dancing with plenty of good food will be availabe.
Tickets are at the bar costing £21 each. AUTUMN
QUIZ NIGHT The first quiz night is
scheduled for Friday evening 24th October so make sure you book your
place at the bar. Places are limited to 100 and includes a one
course meal.
MENS'
CHAMPIONSHIP The Mens' Championship is on Sunday 27th July
and you are welcome to come along and support the contestants.
we always need ball spotters to help the contestants and maintain
speed of play.
******************************** NEW STAFF We have
appointed a new Bar Manager, Rick Saunders who comes to us well
recommended and previously worked at Princes Golf Course in
Kent. Rick is a keen ale drinker and knows about ale and
maintaining a beer cellar. We expect Rick to be keenly involved in
our theme nights and other
events. ******************************** We have
also appointed a new bar person named Donna who is considering
working here full time. Donna is getting married in a few
weeks time so we all wish her well and hope the weather stays kind
for her and her husband to
be. ********************************* We have also
appointed a second Golf Professional taling on Arron Trott who
recently completed his Golf Professional's 3 years training. Arron
has worked here previously as a shop assistant and knows many of the
members. Arron is the Assistant Professional to our Head
Professional, Wallace Street. Arron will be providing a
service in the golf shop as well as teaching with emphasis on
juniors and local school children

SINGING HILLS LADIES SUCCESS
Our Division 1 team won 5 out of 6 matches
during the first season, narrowingly losing to Cottesmore. 15 Ladies
make up the squad and they are to be congratulated on such a great
performance. ****************************** In the Kathleen Rider Foursomes at The Neville,
a Sussex Competition; Debbie Fardell, Pia Khor, Kay Grindell
and Karen Sewell came 5th out of 46 Sussex
Clubs. ****************************** More recently, the Men's
section have also done fantastically well having beaten East Brighton 4 and
1/2 to 1 and 1/2 which gives them a 'Hat
Trick' having won against Cottesmore and Mannings
Heath.
